Unitek College Receives Title IV Status in Bakersfield

Career Education Review

Announcement

Students at the Bakersfield Campus now have greater access to financial aid programs as well as the various benefits of attending a Title IV institution.

In early June 2018, Unitek College took a significant step forward when their Bakersfield Campus was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and became eligible to participate in the Title IV student financial assistance programs. This new and important recognition will not only grant students greater access to financial aid but it lends further credibility to their educational program. Attending and graduating from a recognized institution can even influence job prospects and prevent student loan default.

Title IV falls under the Higher Education Act of 1965. It was created to protect students and make their education more affordable. In particular, Title IV covers the administration of federal financial aid programs for students in the United States. Financial aid options include federal grants, loans, and work-study programs. Additionally, Title IV is designed to ensure that a school provides quality instruction and can assist students in securing a job after graduation.

The process a school must undertake to become a Title IV college is quite rigorous. It can require several years of effort, and not all schools who apply get approved. Many schools operate without this classification, and Unitek is proud to have their Bakersfield Campus be among the institutions that bear the title.

“We are so thrilled to announce the new status of our Bakersfield Campus,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek College. “As a Title IV institution, we hope to expand our reach by increasing our accessibility. We believe education and inclusivity are absolutely vital when it comes to supporting the future of healthcare.”

With Title IV, Unitek seeks to help more people take charge of their future and ultimately realize their dreams. Consequently, Title IV will also allow Unitek to improve the community as a whole. In expanding their reach, they will continue to educate greater numbers of students and help prepare the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.

Unitek College is one of California’s reputable healthcare and nursing colleges. Taught by current experts, Unitek programs teach the best-practice clinical technique and theory used in the field today. Equipped with a multitude of sought-after skills, Unitek graduates are prepared to excel in many of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare and nursing.
