A CAPPS Members-Only Webinar
March 28, 2018
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PST
Presented by Almich & Associates
Rebecca Sanders, Senior Compliance Manager
Athena Ledbetter, Compliance Manager
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the U.S. Department of Education released a new proprietary school and servicer audit guide in 2016. The Guide for Audits of Proprietary Schools and for Compliance Attestation Engagements of Third-Party Servicers Administering Title IV Programs supersedes the 2000 version and was effective for fiscal years beginning after June 30, 2016.
In this webinar you will learn the key changes in the new audit guide including what your auditor will likely be requesting and reviewing. You will also receive insights and lessons learned from a CPA firm that has completed many compliance audits under the new audit guide and is working on many more audits for clients with December 31, 2107 year-ends. Most schools are experiencing an increase in the number of audit findings with the new audit guide, and a corrective action plan (CAP) specifically designed to prevent re-occurrence of findings is critical. You will also learn key points to include in an effective CAP.
