The Commission of the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET is pleased to
formally announce that Christopher Lambert has been appointed as the agency’s new Executive Director
starting on May 17, 2021. Interim Executive Director Judy Hendrickson recently announced her retirement
after a long career serving ACCET and the proprietary school industry. Judy’s retirement will take effect
on June 4, 2021. As she completes her leadership role with ACCET over the coming weeks, she has
graciously committed to assisting with the transition. Most recently in her tenure with ACCET, she
successfully guided the agency through a global pandemic, it’s first ever virtual conference, and virtual
accreditation visits. She has also successfully seen the agency through two recognitions with the US
Department of Education with maximum 5-year grants.
John Shaheen and Dr. Mary Clare DiGiacomo have separately announced their retirements. We owe them
a debt of gratitude for all they have done for ACCET and member institutions over the years. They will be
missed, and we wish them the very best. The Commission would also like to express its thanks to the
ACCET staff for their continual care for the organization. Their work makes a difference in the
operations of hundreds of member institutions, and directly impact the lives of thousands of
institutional staff and instructional personnel, and tens of thousands of students.
