By joining CAPPS today you help ensure that our staff and lobbyists are working on the issues that directly affect you. While CAPPS works on behalf of all proprietary schools in California, our resources are limited and those issues that we focus on are dictated by our member’s concerns. By joining now you can help direct CAPPS’ priorities. See information regarding dues below.
Legislation: CAPPS is the voice of the sector in California. CAPPS’ staff, lobbyists, and legal counsel influence, support, or actively oppose bills that are introduced annually in the state legislature that affect you. Along with our political action committee, the Independent Coalition of Educators Political Action Committee (ICEPAC) we help you protect your rights to operate your school in a business-like manner.
Public Relations: Our sector changes thousands of lives for the better every year. CAPPS is engaged in bringing the very positive stories of our member schools to the Governor, the Legislature, the media and the general public. CAPPS’ member schools are featured in press releases, electronic updates and other media formats. Your membership provides opportunities to talk about your Institutional activities in new and exciting ways.
Direct Institutional Help: Whether a state law compliance issue or an educational decision to add a branch or a new program, CAPPS ishere to offer expert advice and assistance. Or we can assist you in finding the qualified expert that you need to resolve your issues.
CAPPS provides member referrals to qualified consultants and sector professionals, such as attorneys, educational consultants, publishers, human resource companies, financing companies, certified public accountants, and other firms that specialize in working with private postsecondary schools who are also CAPPS members.
Continuing Education: CAPPS provides professional continuing education units in accordance with State requirements for all employees of proprietary schools—covering legal issues, financial aid, admissions topics, placements and retention matters, owner and director issues, teacher training and a host of other topics important to the development of your organization.
Scholarships: The Memorial Scholarship Program provides Private Career Schools with the opportunity to give back to their local community and receive well-deserved recognition.
As a products and services provider, you will find there is no better exposure to potential clients than being actively involved in the activities of CAPPS. Your visibility and one-on-one contact with member schools is the best way to successfully build up your business.
Website Listing: Your company is listed in the CAPPS Member Directory on our website at www.cappsonline.org. Our searchable directory is often the first resource schools turn to when looking for new service providers.
Referrals: CAPPS exclusively refers our school members and others interested to your products and services.
Discounted Exhibit Fees: Allied Members receive advance notice, priority registration, and significant discounts to participate in CAPPS conferences.
