Position Summary:
The Director of Financial Aid will provide direction and hands-on leadership for the capable, dedicated, and committed Financial Aid Team.  The Director must be well-versed in financial aid compliance issues, and in front- and back-end procedures for planning policies and complying with all federal and state regulations, Title IV processes, and school policies.  The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative analytical skills, technological fluency, and experience leading a team of financial aid professionals to strategize, execute, and sustain effective change.

Key Job Elements:

  • Manage the Financial Aid Office and train members of the Financial Aid Team in maintaining day-to-day operations. Establish and execute systems to ensure error-free processing of financial aid and student files.
  • Ensure complete and accurate files and paperwork. Manage annual financial aid compliance audits.
  • Ensure timely collection of Title IV aid and student payments. Audit student account postings for accuracy, compliance, and promptness. Certify loan applications.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of Education regulations, including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Gainful employment
    • 90/10 rule
    • Cohort default rate
  • Create and communicate individualized student financial aid plans leveraging Title IV, state, and agency programs to assist students in financing their educations.
  • Work cohesively with financial aid officers and admissions associates to deliver outstanding service to prospective students and their parents.
  • Prepare reports as appropriate to job duties.
  • Minimum requirements:

Position Requirements:

  • At least two years’ experience as a director/assistant director of Financial Aid
  • Technical knowledge of student financial aid and Title IV regulations
  • Strong database and technical skills in student information systems software, such as CampusVUE (Financial Aid and Student Accounts modules)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline
